When I was on PEI for my family holidays this summer, I asked my Dad what it was like to grow up on a family farm on the island in the 1950’s… Not surprisingly, the main message was – it was a lot of hard work!

As we talked about the food they produced and traded with neighbouring farms, he said he could still remember the quality and the taste of the fresh carrots, the raw milk, the still-warm chicken that would become dinner that night.

This conversation made me think of how differently we think about food these days… Here are my thoughts!

I share what I see as the biggest miscalculation that people make when deciding where to buy there food, and share how I choose where to shop for my fresh food.
